The following are the first batch of digital iterations of the Marlborough Madness Festival logo.
Much of the previous sketch work has been referenced in previous posts, but there are some common themes among these logos that I feel are essential to talk about.
In iterations 1.1 and 1.2, the design was all about creating as abstract as a definition of madness and energy as I could. This festival is all about positive celebration of the local business and culture, and the focal point of this design was the motion created by these forms. The color scheme is tetradic and is able to also further communicate community more subliminally. 1.1 and 1.2 essentially have the same concept behind them, but each employ different digital techniques to create the forms the design was looking for.
Iteration 2 is a bit of a spin off of this idea, however with a more representation attitude with the addition of the county line of Marlborough. The concept behind this piece is that of togetherness, having forms display a sense of inter-weaving to create the bigger picture (the entire county). The motion displayed in the forms of the top right corner can be interpreted as either inward, or outward displaying energy in both directions.
